Inspirational Quote: The Will to Live

When we saw this sunset outside of our window, my husband ran outside to take a picture. So I ran outside to take a picture of my husband taking a picture of the sunset.

After marveling at one accomplishment checked off my life list, my dream of publication, I had this epiphany: love is at the center of everything I have to offer. Love for my work. Love for people. Love for myself. Funny how the thing I knew so intuitively as a child turned out to be right, even after I spent my twenties trying to disprove it.

"Love is the ultimate expression of the will to live."  -Tom Wolfe

WOW Tina!! That picture is so indeed amazing... and yes! i agree with you. I had been denying love- denying its role in building our lives, our souls... and yet, where i stand today, i see how important it is let love in our lives. :)

How are you?

Love that picture! I come to that conclusion all the time when I think about what we are here for, what we do to survive? Love is at the center of it all. Without it there is no will to live. We dream, work, live and hope for love. I wish we would give it more freely, but I suppose it's a valuable thing and we have to be careful.

Rathi, I am wonderful. Finally emerging from the exhaustion of the last 6 months of edits leading up to publication. I haven't been able to link over to your blog lately. I'll check to see if you are back up again.

Nikki, I wish we could give it more freely too. What a thoughtful comment.

Your view Tina! It's stunning! I'd never get tired of sunsets like that:)

One of the hardest and most difficult lessons I've had to learn, and am still working on is that it's so important to love myself. That concept in my childhood and girlhood was equated to being self centered and conceited. What a horribly misguided notion. Thankfully, my daughter has a good self esteem. It's been my most important goal as her mom to make sure of it.

Very encouraging post today:)
