Photos from My Trip to Florida

There is something luxurious in the familiar, a luxury I don't often enjoy in my tumbleweed existence. Here are a few random images from my journey home to Florida.

The clouds in Florida really are epic. They are like mountains.

A papaya tree in my parent's yard.

Dad's cat keeping an eye on things.

My cranberry and pear dessert with cream cheese topping. (One of the few recipes my Mother has embraced.)

How was your holiday?

Cranberries + pear + cream cheese? Where can I get one? This looks (and sounds) scrumptious.

Popcorn, you can retro any cranberry relish recipe to accommodate this. Add a crust. Add a block of cream cheese whipped with a tbsp of mayo and chopped pecans to taste.

Nikki, never. But the papaya tree is lovely, isn't it?

Elle, I think you might enjoy the movie if you liked the book.

Great photos Tina. I love how each part of the country has beauty. And the warm weather there is a serious perk.

Nice pics. Your dad's cat looks a lot like our cat Dot ... only Dot's the size of a small tank. The thing that always excites me about the sky in Florida, and this is gonna sound dumb ... is the skywriters. Used to see them everywhere when I was a kid, but the only place I ever see them now is when we visit FL. And seeing those smiley faces in the sky tickle me every bit as much now as it did when I was a kid. Y'know, back in the dark ages.

Oh wow, Tina! GORGEOUS photos! I am so unbelievably jealous your parents have a papaya tree. That sounds heavenly. Glad you enjoyed your stay and hope you had a very happy Thanksgiving! XOXO

Tina-I've never been to Florida, but it is high on my list of places to visit. I'm guessing that so much of why I love Hawaii would make me love Florida too.

Glad you had a wonderful Thanksgiving with your parents! We had a nice holiday too. My parents couldn't make it due to weather, but we still had a pretty delicious-just smaller-feast. :)
